The Green Bay Strikers!

Smiles

The Green Bay Striker Soccer Club is an all-volunteer, non-profit recreational youth soccer on the East Side of Green Bay, WI. It provides the opportunity for boys and girls ages 5-18 to play soccer for fun. Last year over 1600 children participated in the East-side program. Our season runs from May through July, August for the Tony Litt Tournament.

Our recreational program's focus is the building of teamwork and self-esteem, having fun through positive approaches to coaching and guaranteed playing time regardless of skill level.

The Green Bay Strikers and several other Green Bay Metro area clubs comprise the Bay-Lakes Soccer Club, where over 8,000 children played on 400 teams county-wide. Nationally, we are affiliated with the Soccer Association for Youth (SAY) organization. SAY was formed in 1967 to provide all youths the opportunity to have fun, develop athletic skills, and build self esteem through the sport of soccer. All teams are randomly selected to create balanced teams, and there are no try-outs or cuts.

Our philosophy, along with the enthusiasm of players and parents, has contributed to our rapid growth.

Board of Directors

If you want to make a difference and be involved, why not volunteer on our Board? A lot of work goes into making this league a reality for the children and your help would be appreciated.

You can become an elected member of the Board at our general meeting in August and/or become an honorary member anytime during the season by volunteering your time to help the Board Members in any area you choose. In either capacity, you will have input on the decisions made by the Board and can be a part of one of the best youth organizations in the state!

Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday after the first Monday of every month. The dates andlocations can be found in the sidebar on every page of this site under Events

To volunteer contact any Board Member at registration, email us, or call the Answer Line: 490-7266.

FAQ

The following is a list of Frequently Asked Questions for your convenience. If you have additional questions or comments please contact us either via email or the answer line: 490-7266

  1. How are players assigned to teams?
Players are assigned randomly by a blind draft.
  2. Can my child be placed on a team with a neighbor or friend for car pooling reasons?
No. By National SAY requirements, all players are assigned at random to ensure no stacking of teams. Only 2 children of the coach's may be assigned.
  3. Can I request a certain coach for my child?
No, again this might lead to stacking of teams.
  4. What if I am gone during all registration dates?
Call the Green Bay Strikers Answer Line at 490-7266 for information.
  5. Why do I need a birth certificate at registration?
Players need their birth certificate to verify age.
  6. How is age of my child determined?
Your child's age is determined by their age on July 31st.
  7. Can players from other areas play on the East side?
Yes, but a special request must be made at registration and approved by the Board of Directors.
  8. Can my son or daughter play up an age group?
Although we recommend against this, players are allowed to "play up" one year. Any parent who wants their child to "play up" more than one year must fill out a Request for Exception form at registration.
  9. Can I get the exact days my child will play?
During the season, games will be Monday through Thursday. With so many teams, we have little flexibility in scheduling. A full schedule will be shared at the start of the season.
